SGADF Awaits Official Clarification Amid Circulation of Another Viral Letter

SGADF Raises Concerns Over Repeated Circulation of Unverified Letters, Awaits Official Clarification From IOA

New Delhi | SGADF Media Desk

The School Games and Activity Development Foundation (SGADF) has expressed concern over the circulation of another unverified letter on social media that mentions SGADF and its associated bodies.

According to SGADF, this is not the first time such a document has surfaced. Earlier, a viral document bearing Ref. No. IOA/MYAS/VI/56/2026/3031 dated 12 June 2026 was widely circulated on social media and various online platforms. Subsequently, another document relating to the same issue has also been circulated, creating fresh confusion among athletes, parents, coaches, educational institutions, and sports organizations.

SGADF wishes to clarify that it has not received these documents directly from the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) through any official communication channel. Therefore, the organization does not presently treat these viral documents as officially verified communications until confirmation is received directly from the competent authority.

Serious Questions Over Repeated Circulation

SGADF believes that the repeated circulation of such documents raises serious questions regarding their origin, purpose, and the individuals or groups involved in spreading them across social media.

The organization has observed that several individuals and organizations publicly shared these documents on social media without conducting independent verification regarding their authenticity. SGADF believes that responsible stakeholders should verify documents through official sources before presenting them as authentic communications.

Attempt to Create Confusion?

SGADF is concerned that repeated circulation of unverified documents mentioning the organization may create confusion within the sporting community and may adversely affect the reputation of athletes, coaches, volunteers, and stakeholders associated with SGADF's activities.

The foundation has stated that it has no connection whatsoever with the creation, publication, circulation, or promotion of these viral documents.

SGADF further believes that if any individual or organization has deliberately created, modified, or circulated misleading documents in an attempt to create confusion or damage the reputation of SGADF, such actions should be thoroughly examined by the appropriate authorities.

Awaiting Official IOA Response

At present, SGADF is awaiting an official response and clarification from the Indian Olympic Association regarding the matter.

The organization hopes that IOA will issue a clear public notification or advisory so that athletes, parents, educational institutions, sports bodies, and members of the public can receive accurate information from an official source.

SGADF believes that an official clarification from IOA would help eliminate confusion and prevent the spread of misinformation within the sporting community.

Evidence and Further Disclosure

SGADF has stated that it possesses records of several social media posts, public statements, and related communications concerning the circulation of these documents.

The organization is currently reviewing the available material and reserves its right to place relevant information before the appropriate authorities if required.

SGADF has also indicated that, if necessary, it may publicly present factual information regarding the sequence of events and the individuals or organizations involved in promoting unverified content, subject to legal review and verification.

Mission Remains Unchanged

Despite the ongoing controversy, SGADF remains committed to its core mission of grassroots sports development, youth participation, physical education, and athlete support.

Founded in 2017, SGADF continues to focus on creating opportunities for young athletes and strengthening sports participation across India.

Message to the Sporting Community

SGADF respectfully requests athletes, parents, coaches, schools, colleges, academies, sports organizations, and members of the media not to rely upon unverified social media content.

The organization urges everyone to wait for official communication from the concerned authorities and to verify information through authentic sources before drawing conclusions.

"Facts must be established through official communication, not social media speculation. SGADF remains committed to transparency, accountability, and the development of Indian sports."

SGADF Seeks Investigation Into 195+ Sports Organizations Across India, Raises Concerns Over Alleged Misuse of Logos, Recognition Claims, and Certificates

A major development has emerged in India's sports sector after the School Games and Activity Development Foundation (SGADF) submitted a detailed complaint to several national and international authorities seeking an independent investigation into more than 195 sports organizations, federations, councils, and associations operating across the country.

According to SGADF, the complaint was filed after months of collecting publicly available documents, promotional materials, certificates, social media advertisements, websites, event brochures, and affiliation claims allegedly being used by various organizations. The foundation has requested authorities to verify whether the claims made by these organizations are legally valid and accurately represented to athletes, parents, schools, colleges, and sports institutions.

SGADF Founder Shivam Thakur, an international athlete and sports administrator, stated that the objective of the initiative is to promote transparency, accountability, and athlete protection within the Indian sports ecosystem.

Organizations Named in the Complaint

According to SGADF, the complaint includes concerns regarding several organizations, including:

  • Youth Games Federation of India
  • Youth Games Council of India
  • Youth Games Education Federation of India
  • Youth Games Development Federation of India
  • National Sports Federation of India
  • National Youth Games Council India
  • Student All Games Federation of India
  • School Games Education Federation India
  • School Games Development Foundation India
  • Indian Women Olympic Association
  • Rural Olympic Association India
  • Indian Rural Olympic Association
  • Indian School Olympic Association
  • Rural Games Federation of India
  • Rural Games Association of India
  • Rural Games Organization of India
  • National School Sports Federation of India
  • School Sports and Cultural Activities Federation
  • Khelo India Sports Federation India
  • Khelo Bharat Youth Games Federation India
  • Youth & Sports Promotion Association of Tamil Nadu

and numerous other organizations allegedly operating across different states of India.

Alleged Misuse of Government Logos

One of the primary concerns raised by SGADF relates to the alleged use of government-related names, logos, and branding elements on websites, certificates, event posters, social media campaigns, and promotional materials.

According to the complaint, certain organizations have allegedly displayed or referred to logos and identities associated with:

  • Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS)
  • Khelo India
  • Fit India
  • NITI Aayog
  • MSME
  • Government of India
  • Indian Olympic Association (IOA)

SGADF has requested authorities to determine whether the organizations involved possess valid permissions, approvals, memberships, partnerships, or legal authorizations to use such logos and representations in public communications.

Concerns Regarding International Logos and Affiliations

The complaint further raises concerns regarding the alleged use of international sports and institutional branding, including references to:

  • International Olympic Committee (IOC)
  • UNESCO
  • World Health Organization (WHO)
  • TAFISA
  • International Council of Sport Science and Physical Education (ICSSPE)
  • International Association for Sports and Leisure Facilities (IAKS)

According to SGADF, several organizations allegedly use these names and logos in promotional campaigns, websites, certificates, championship advertisements, and social media content, potentially creating an impression of official affiliation or recognition.

The foundation has requested relevant authorities to independently verify the legitimacy of such claims.

Recognition and Affiliation Claims Under Scrutiny

Another major aspect of the complaint relates to recognition and affiliation claims.

SGADF alleges that several organizations advertise themselves as:

  • National Federations
  • National Governing Bodies
  • Olympic Associations
  • Government Recognized Organizations
  • Internationally Recognized Federations
  • World Championship Authorities

The complaint seeks verification of these claims and requests authorities to clarify whether such organizations possess official recognition from the competent authorities they reference.

According to SGADF, many athletes and parents rely heavily on recognition claims when selecting competitions, making transparency an essential requirement within the sports sector.

Certificates and Awards

The complaint also seeks investigation into certificates, medals, awards, honorary titles, and recognition documents allegedly issued by certain organizations.

SGADF has expressed concern that some certificates may contain logos, affiliations, recognition claims, or references that could potentially create confusion regarding their actual legal or institutional standing.

The foundation has requested authorities to examine whether the statements and affiliations displayed on such certificates accurately reflect the status of the issuing organizations.

Collection of Participation Fees

According to SGADF, another area requiring scrutiny is the collection of participation fees from athletes, parents, schools, and educational institutions.

The complaint requests authorities to review fee structures associated with:

  • National Championships
  • International Tours
  • World Championships
  • Sports Festivals
  • Award Ceremonies
  • Record Events
  • Youth Games Programs

SGADF has argued that athletes and parents deserve full transparency regarding the legal status and recognition of organizations before making financial commitments.

International Events and Promotional Claims

The foundation has also raised concerns regarding promotional claims connected to international sports events, foreign tours, world championships, Olympic-style competitions, and record programs.

According to SGADF, authorities should verify whether advertised international partnerships, event approvals, host-country associations, and participation opportunities are supported by legitimate documentation.

The complaint emphasizes that international event branding often influences participation decisions made by athletes and their families.

Appeal to Athletes, Parents, Schools, and Coaches

SGADF has urged athletes, parents, coaches, schools, colleges, and sports academies to conduct independent verification before enrolling in any championship, sports program, international tour, or award event.

The organization recommends verifying:

  • Registration certificates
  • Legal status of organizations
  • Government recognition claims
  • International affiliations
  • Event approvals
  • Partnership documents
  • Certificate validity
  • Official websites of concerned authorities

before making payments or participating in events.

Statement by SGADF Founder Shivam Thakur

Speaking on the issue, SGADF Founder Shivam Thakur stated:

"The objective of this initiative is not to target any individual or organization. Our primary concern is athlete welfare and transparency in Indian sports. Players, parents, schools, and coaches have the right to know the actual legal status, recognition, and affiliations of any organization conducting sports activities. We have requested competent authorities to independently verify all claims and take appropriate action wherever necessary."

Awaiting Official Investigation

SGADF has stated that it will continue cooperating with authorities and provide supporting documents, screenshots, certificates, website records, promotional materials, and other evidence collected during its review process.

The foundation has emphasized that only a fair and independent investigation by the concerned authorities can determine the accuracy of the allegations raised in the complaint.
