Sher-e-Kashmir Bodybuilding Competition Conducted By Indian Army In the Kashmir Valley

The final round of event SHER-E-KASHMIR Bodybuilding Competition was conducted by 20 RR in Srinagar on Wednesday, as part of the initiatives to encourage fitness and promote sporting culture and motivate youth in Kashmir.

The event observed the participation of youth from different districts of the valley. The bodybuilding competition was distributed into eight different weight categories that marked 50 young participants fighting for the coveted title of “SHER-E- KASHMIR.

Several Army units organized the preliminary competitions at nine different places across North and South Kashmir, in which more than 200 youngsters participated. The top 50 bodybuilders were called upon for the final match.

All the winners were given cash prizes. The competition was won by Sameer Najar, who received the prize of Rs 21,000 along with the title of Sher-E-Kashmir.

In the weight category of 65kg-70kg, Showkat Ahmad Hurra won the round. In the category of 70kg-75kg, Mir Rafiq Hussain registered his victory. In the category of 75kg-80kg, the winner was Sameer Najar. In the 80kg-85kg category, Ishfaq Rasool Bhat was the winner. In the 85kg-90kg category, Hilal Ahmad Lone was the winner. In the 90kg and above category, Kazi Wasim was the winner.

All the participants very well received the event, and the Kashmiri Awaam praised the efforts of the Indian Army and demanded it to conduct such events in the future as well.
