The Chinese badminton legend Lin Dan was ranked 75th in Marca’s top 100 sportsmen of the current century. Last week Marca released a list of top 100 sportsmen. Marca is a Spanish national daily sports newspaper. The list has been made taking into consideration sporting achievements, ability, skills and social impact.
Lin Dan, no doubt is among the greatest badminton players of all time. The Chinese legend is the lone badminton player on the list so far.
Lin Dan is a two Time Olympic gold medalist, One in Beijing 2008, and then London 2012. The legend is a five time world champion (2006, 2007, 2009, 2011, and 2013) and six time All England Champion (2004, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2012, and 2016).
He has won every other major title in the circuit; Olympic Games, World Championships, Asian Games, Thomas Cup, Sudirman Cup, Super Series Finals, Super series Premier and Asian Championships.
