Gyms and Yoga Centres all clear to operate from 5th August

Unfurling more relaxation by removing night curfew in the Unlock 3.0 starting from August 1, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA)has announced the opening of Gyms, fitness centers and Yoga Institutes located in non-containment zones.

The gyms and fitness centers that have been closed following COVID-19 Pandemic for more than 4 months are now all set to open up however, the government is yet to come up with some guidelines for the same.

Besides, allowing gyms and yoga institutions to open up, the MHA also has lifted prior night curfew of 10 pm to 5 am and allow International air travel to hit again.

It should be noted that the central government has barred all gym owners to regulate their gym’s operation from March 17th which triggered an unprecedented deadlock to the gym industry. As the spree of lockdown continues, it has deteriorated the livelihood of millions of physical trainers, gym owners, trainers and of course associated business start-ups. The Lockdown has forced trainers to live their life in the mediocrity, the persons who were earning 20-25k in a week are now finding it hard to even make the amount in a month.

There have been a lot many petitions, as well as appeals, came forward asking the government to lift government ban over the functioning of the gyms and wellness centers. Several social media influencers and bloggers have also stared campaigns like #Savethegym on the internet which has been shared by thousands of gym-goers.

Nevertheless, amid such adverse conditions, there has been tremendous growth of fitness tech start-ups and online fitness aggregators to come up with various creative content for fitness enthusiasts and clients. In the absence of gyms, netizens and online trainers brought lot many home workout as well as no equipment workout regimes which is going to be a new normal at least for this year.

With this news of relaxation, it will be interesting to show how many clients and regular gym goers will hit back to the gym floor amid ever-rising COVID-19 cases
