IMPHAL: The 143 Bn CRPF organized the Fit India Freedom Run at Lamphelpat, Imphal West to promote fitness and support accomplishing freedom from laziness, obesity, stress, diseases, anxiety, etc. that is a part of the Fit India Movement initiated by the PM Modi, to generate mass awareness about the importance of fitness.
Officers and personnel of 143 Bn CRPF took part in the run following the social distancing measures and promoting the new model of ‘virtual runs’.
Randeep Datta, PMG, IGP Manipur and Nagaland Sector flagged off the ceremony as chief guest. At the same time, Laishram Sarita Devi, World champion of boxing and her husband Chongtham Tomba Singh joined the event as special guests.
Talking about the initiative, chief guest Randeep Datta spoke only a fit person could contribute appropriately to his/her nation and fellow support citizens in their times of necessity.
Each member of the assembly will motivate members of their family and community to take up fitness exercises as a routine. It is a unique idea that enables participants to run at their speed and plan.
Ritu Datta also accompanied the event, w/o Randeep Datta, Lamkhokam Lhoujem, Commandant-143 Bn, Linda Sitlhou, w/o Lamkhokam Lhoujem along with other officers and families of 143 Bn CRPF.
