More than 10 crore people have taken part in the ‘Fit India’ campaign presently that intends to enhance the mental and physical health of the citizens, Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju said.
Kiren Rijiju stated while supporting a cycle rally of specially-abled CRPF troops who pedaled about 1,000 kilometers in 16 days from Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad to Delhi.
Rijiju carried the ‘Fit India’ campaign that was started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and He is happy to announce that over ten crore people have engaged in it presently.
Rijiju said while addressing the Central Reserve Police Force rally at Rajghat that the campaign was launched to enhance the citizens’ physical and mental health.
According to Rijiju, when “uniformed forces like the CRPF take part in such campaign or mission, they encourage and inspire many people.”
This cycle rally of CRPF ‘divyang yoddhas’ (specially-abled warriors) conveyed the message of determination, peace, and passion, Rijiju said.
Rijiju said the Sports Ministry is dropping no stone unturned for giving facilities to the specially-abled athletes and sportspersons.
“The government does not differentiate between athletes…there is no difference whether it is a regular athlete or para-athlete,” he stated.
CRPF Director General A P Maheshwari also praised the participants of the rally and said the country’s most extensive paramilitary force has “carried a comprehensive policy to skill and re-skill the ‘divyang’ warriors of the force who underwent injuries while serving the nation.”
“This policy intends at first skilling the ‘divyang’ warriors in para-sports and next imparting them technology-related skills that will allow them to serve the nation as cyber professionals,” the DG said.
